About Alman Partners
We are CEFEX Certified and are one of only a handful of Financial Advice firms in Australia that adhere to a standard representing the best practices in our profession. Since 2016, Alman Partners continues to voluntarily participate in annual audits conducted by the Centre of Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX), in order to maximise professionalism and ensure standards and global best practices are maintained. The Financial Advice Association of Australia (FAAA, previously FPA), is the peak professional body for financial planners in the country, and Alman Partners is an FAAA Professional Practice. In 2003, our founder Scott Alman, had the vision to create a community-owned foundation with the aim to continually grow a base of investment funds that would provide a permanent and growing source of funding to those in need in our community. Today the Mackay Community Foundation has provided over $1.7 million in grants. Alman Partners manages these investments for the Foundation and continues to engage at the Board level.

Alman Partners Trusted Adviser Development Program is an exciting opportunity to develop the necessary skills to help you become the best adviser you can be!
Depending on your entry qualifications and skills, timeframes in each level may vary. Alman Partners’ Advice Team operates in a Diamond structure, allowing cross-team training and growth opportunities whilst ensuring our clients and team have the appropriate level of support at all times.
This Program is facilitated in our Mackay office.
Open to Graduates studying Financial Planning or similar qualification, or those looking for a professional career change.

Welcome to Adviser Boot Camp!
LEVEL 1: Operational Familiarisation & Study > 12 months
Setting solid foundations for your career is vital and in Level 1, you will learn valuable skills around building client relationships and working with a team, while familiarising yourself with all of the roles within our firm. You will also gain a strong understanding of our systems inside-out.
Between Level 1 & Level 2 opportunity will present to participate in a dedicated 2-year EQ & SQ training program facilitated by GAIA, to become a world-class adviser.

LEVEL 2: Adviser Skill Development – Commence Professional Year.
Shifting responsibilities to more of a financial analyst role, you will be assisting your Relationship Adviser & Lead Advisers. This will include activities such as preparing agendas, attending client meetings, drafting File Notes and performing follow-ups, creating new Client Strategy Working Papers and managing existing client’s advice processes, ensuring adequate detail is available for the Financial Analysts to prepare Advice documents.
LEVEL 3: Transition to Lead Adviser – Commences once passed FASEA Exam and completing final quarter of Professional Year.
Level 3 is where things get really exciting. You will start building your own client base from the transition of clients from other Advisers, as well as bringing on new clients. You will continue to support your Diamond Team in line with Level 2 activities which will reduce proportionally as your client base grows. You will have supervised platform transacting on allocated clients and you will work towards your growth targets in your Personal Development plan.
Woohoo – you have achieved Lead Adviser! All of your hard work and dedication through your Associate Phase has paid off, but there is still more to be achieved!
LEVEL 1
Phase 1 will see you continue to build your client base from the transition of clients from other Advisers and onboarding new clients, in turn building long lasting client relations while working towards your set revenue targets. Supporting your Diamond Team will continue in order to deliver on the annual business plan goals which often include exciting development projects.
As “Associate Master” you will now be in a position to impart your learnings to the next generation coming through the Program. Working towards achieving the highest qualification of a Financial Adviser in Australia – set the CFP® Professional designation in your sights. Continuing to develop your relationship skills you will become involved with at least 2 professional networks or Centre of Influence fostering relationships to assist you, your clients and Alman Partners. You will also have at least 1 pro bono team member client.
LEVEL 2
Upon achieving your Phase 1 targets get ready to master Phase 2. Remuneration in this Phase is linked to the quality of Advice produced, achieving and maintaining your Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements, progress on your Heartstyles journey, project delivery & annual recurring revenue being managed.
You will continue to support your Diamond Team in delivering set business plan goals, developing Associates, deliver on Business improvement Projects and become a member of an Operational Committee within Alman Partners. Committees range from our Internal Investment Committee to Brand and Marketing and Compliance.
Building those networking relationships has paid off as you step in to a Champion role on a min. of 2 relationships. You will take at least 2 pro bono team member clients under your care, and drum roll please… you will have achieved CFP® Professional status!
LEVEL 3
You have achieved Senior status! Congratulations. As a Senior Lead Adviser your responsibilities will include all those in Phase 2 and a few more, allowing you to shine as the Leader in the Profession you are becoming. Along with developing Associates, you will also take under your wing other Lead Advisers in Phase 1 and 2. You will now have oversight and management responsibilities of Business Improvement Projects, increasing your role within your Operational Committee becoming a Lead or Chair.
With a focus on education you will provide a min. of 2 formal training sessions per annum either to the team internally or via our Lunch & Learn program with our Centres of Influence. This is also a great opportunity to hone your skills undertaking additional education and specialisations to become an expert in the topic.
From here, there are opportunities, when they arise, to form another Diamond requiring a new Relationship Adviser which focuses on managing a Diamond all of your own!
