Our Timeline
Alman Partners has seen many changes in the industry since Scott Alman began the firm back in 1985.
1985
Early September 1985 Scott started “Scott Alman Insurance & Investment,” providing superannuation, savings plans and life insurance to Mackay and surrounding districts.
1987
Scott partnered with Jim Seymour to form “Seymour & Alman Insurance & Investment.” They opened a small office at 80 Victoria Street, Mackay.
1989
Due to rapid growth, Seymour & Alman purchased the old National Australia Bank building built in 1919 at 33 Sydney Street, Mackay, naming it “Seymour and Alman House.” Scott became a licenced dealer representative of Hillross Pty Ltd, a national financial advisory group. Seymour & Alman by this time had offices in Mackay, Clermont and Airlie Beach.
1994

He bought out Jim Seymour and renamed the investment business “Mackay Financial Planners.” The insurance business was merged with Pioneer Insurance Brokers (PGI), in which Scott retained a 33% interest, and at the time was one of the largest insurance brokers in regional Queensland. PGI was subsequently sold to AON.
